On Monday 1 June 2026, Deloitte Luxembourg announced the appointment of seventeen new members to its partnership, including thirteen Partners and four Managing Directors, as Joachim Heukmes succeeded John Psaila as CEO and Managing Partner.
According to Deloitte Luxembourg, the appointments strengthen the firm's capabilities across Advisory & Consulting, Audit & Assurance, Tax and Operations. The changes took effect on 1 June 2026, following the completion of John Psaila's second consecutive mandate as Managing Partner, a role he had held since June 2018. Following the appointments, Deloitte Luxembourg's partnership has grown to 189 Partners and Managing Directors, supporting a multidisciplinary firm of more than 2,600 professionals.
John Psaila said: “Over recent months, our focus has been on ensuring the firm continued to move forward with confidence while supporting our people through change and maintaining the trust our clients place in us. During my two mandates, the partnership nearly doubled in size. But what matters the most, is that we achieved this while preserving the quality of our relationships, the trust built over time, and the sense that the firm always moved forward together. I would like to thank our clients, all the partners and our people for their trust, commitment, and support over the years. I would also like to thank the partners who served with me on the Executive Committee, together with the two Chairs and their supervisory boards, with whom I had the privilege to work during my mandates.”
Joachim Heukmes commented: “Today marks both the beginning of a new chapter for our firm and the recognition of seventeen professionals whose leadership will help shape it. Investing in our people has always been what drives this firm, and it’s at the heart of our growth strategy. The Partners and Managing Directors we’re welcoming today are exactly that commitment in action — they’ve earned this, and they are the leaders who will carry our growth ahead.” He added: “It is our responsibility to support by giving talented people the room to lead. We are confident that their strategic vision and commitment to excellence will help us in this new phase of growth, delivering exceptional value to our customers and stakeholders. I’m genuinely proud to celebrate them today, and excited about what we’ll build together.”
