On Thursday 2 July 2026, the City of Luxembourg (VdL) announced the swearing-in of 56 new civil servants across a variety of departments.
According to the VdL, in the presence of Mayor of Luxembourg City, Lydie Polfer, 56 new civil servants were officially assigned to the departments of Architect-Maintenance, Buses, Buildings, Luxembourg City Library, Bierger-Center, Conservatory, Daycare Centres, Water, Events, Festivals and Markets, Hygiene, Youth and Social Intervention, Parks, Parking, General Secretariat, Information and Communication Technologies, Urban Planning, Roads, and the Human Resources Department.
The VdL noted that, to date, it employs 4,677 people, including 1,858 women and 2,819 men.
