On Friday 21 August 2026, Luxembourg's national railway operator, the CFL, announced that due to work carried out during the summer period, part of the railway tracks serving the Howald interchange will not be directly available from Monday 24 August.

Service to the Howald interchange hub will therefore be limited on certain connections from Monday 24 August to Friday 28 August 2026.

As a result, trains on the Luxembourg – Thionville – Metz and Luxembourg – Esch-sur-Alzette – Rodange lines will serve Howald only in the direction towards Luxembourg station.

Train customers wishing to travel from Howald towards Thionville or Metz, respectively towards Esch-sur-Alzette or Rodange, are asked to reach Luxembourg station by train and/or tram from the Howald interchange hub to join a train on their respective line.
