Kropemannsfest 2026;

On Sunday 27 September 2026, the traditional Kropemannsfest returned to Redange-sur-Attert, drawing thousands of visitors for a day of live music, entertainment, food, market stalls and activities for children.
The annual folk festival, held in honour of the mythical Kropemann (“hook man”), offers entertainment for all ages. The festival officially opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Luxembourg's Minister of Agriculture, Food and Viticulture Martine Hansen, Minister for Culture and Minister Delegate for Tourism Eric Thill and First Alderman of Redange-sur-Attert Danielle Simon-Arendt.
Chronicle.lu visited the festival in the afternoon, when organisers reported that more than 2,500 people had already attended the event by 14:30. Sunny weather, with temperatures of around 25-27°C, accompanied the festivities throughout the day, as crowds filled the streets of Redange-sur-Attert.
Numerous market and information stands lined the festival area, with exhibitors presenting local and artisanal products and other creations. Food and drink stands, including grilled food, were also available throughout the event.
Live music and entertainment took place at several locations across the festival, with different stages and performance areas spread throughout the town.
The programme featured a range of musicians and groups, while street performers, including stilt walkers, moved through the crowds.
The programme placed a particular emphasis on families and younger visitors, with a dedicated Kids Village offering various activities and entertainment. These included circus activities, face painting, a graffiti workshop, inflatables, fairground attractions and a small-animal exhibition.
The festival area remained busy throughout the afternoon, with visitors moving between the market stalls, food and drink stands, children's activities and live music performances.
