On Monday 22 June 2026, Luxembourg's national weather portal, MeteoLux, issued a red heat warning for high temperatures, which will remain in force from 12:00 on Monday until 00:00 on Tuesday 23 June for the entire country.

MeteoLux warned that temperatures will remain extremely high throughout the day and into the evening, with little cooling overnight. The weather service said prolonged exposure to the heat could lead to heat exhaustion or heatstroke, even during limited physical activity.

Monday is expected to remain sunny and very hot, with afternoon temperatures reaching 33°C to 35°C in the north and 36°C to 38°C in the south. Light winds are forecast and no rainfall is expected, noted MeteoLux.

The hot weather is set to continue on Tuesday 23 June 2026, with maximum temperatures of 34°C to 36°C. Sunny conditions are expected to persist before temperatures remain above seasonal averages through the rest of the week. Forecast highs of up to 38°C are expected again on Wednesday 24  and Thursday 25, while Friday 26 June 2026 should remain hot with temperatures between 34°C and 36°C.

MeteoLux said the current weather pattern results from tropical air over the region. While conditions remain mostly sunny, there is a slight risk of thunderstorms developing from the west later on Monday.
