The Grand Ducal Police has reported two arrests linked to alcohol-related incidents that occurred on Sunday 27 July 2026 in Luxembourg City and Clervaux.

During the Sunday afternoon, police received reports of a heavily intoxicated man harassing customers on the terrace of a restaurant in Luxembourg City. Officers located the man at the scene. As he refused to leave despite being instructed to do so and, due to his condition, posed a danger to himself and others, officers placed him into custody following a medical examination.

At around the same time, police were called to a road traffic accident at a roundabout in Clervaux. According to initial findings, a motorist drove into the roundabout, mounted the kerb and eventually came to a stop on an embankment.

During the roadside check, officers observed signs of alcohol consumption. The driver refused to undergo an alcohol test and had his driving licence confiscated. As he behaved uncooperatively and posed a danger to himself and others, he was also taken into custody following a medical examination. Police drew up a report.
