686th edition of the annual Schueberfouer closes with its traditional fireworks display;

On the evening of Wednesday 9 September 2026, the 686th edition of the annual Schueberfouer funfair closed with its traditional fireworks display.
The fair was officially opened on Friday 21 August by Mayor of the City of Luxembourg Lydie Polfer, with Deputy Prime Minister Xavier Bettel, First Alderman of the City of Luxembourg Maurice Bauer, Luxembourg’s Minister for Defence and Minister for Mobility and Public Works Yuriko Backes and Alderman of the City of LuxembourgPatrick Goldschmidt among the dignitaries in attendance for the official ribbon-cutting.
On the final day, rides, games and attractions were offered at half price until 20:00 and the event concluded with its traditional fireworks display over the Grand Duchess Charlotte Bridge at 22:00, before the fair officially closed at 01:00.
The Schueberfouer is considered the largest annual funfair in Luxembourg and the Greater Region.
