On Thursday 29 October 2026, the Luxembourg City Tourist Office (LCTO) reported that the Bock Casemates had welcomed their 200,000th visitor of the year on Tuesday 27 October, reaching this symbolic milestone nearly two months earlier than in 2025.

The LCTO said this marks a new record for reaching this milestone and confirms the appeal of this iconic site among visitors from Luxembourg and abroad.

This new record also continues the positive trend observed in recent years. After surpassing the 200,000-visitor threshold for the first time in 2024, with 200,003 admissions, the Bock Casemates set a new record in 2025, welcoming 207,788 visitors, an increase of 3.89% in one year.

To mark this symbolic milestone, the 200,000th visitor was personally welcomed by representatives of the Luxembourg City Tourist Office and the City of Luxembourg (VdL). On this occasion, a gift hamper containing a selection of local products was presented to the visitor.

Developed as early as the 17th century, Bock Casemates’ network of underground galleries form part of the city’s historic fortifications, which have been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1994. This year, the Bock Casemates also received Tripadvisor’s “Travellers’ Choice Award”, recognising the quality of the experience offered to visitors.
