On Tuesday 4 November 2025, the Luxembourg Administration of Bridges and Roads announced that on Friday 7 November 2025, at approximately 23:00, traffic on the A1 motorway towards Luxembourg will be reduced to one lane in both directions as they replace the expansion joints on the structure located above the “Irrgarten” roundabout.
The works are expected to be completed on Monday 10 November 2025 at around 04:00.
During the works, the maximum speed will be limited to 70 km/h to ensure the safety of road users and the personnel working on the site and the number of motorway entry and exit points will be reduced.
The following accesses and exits will be closed:
• the A1 exit at Hamm Interchange from Croix de Gasperich
• the Hamm Interchange entry onto the A1 towards Trier
Road users wishing to leave the A1 via the Hamm Interchange will be diverted via the Senningerberg Interchange, the N1, the N1A and the N2A.
Road users wishing to access the A1 from the Hamm Interchange will be redirected via the N2A, the N1A, the N1 and the Senningerberg Interchange.
The Administration of Bridges and Roads noted that diversion routes will be signposted accordingly.
Preparatory works required to change the operation mode of the motorway will take place a few hours before the start of the main works. Traffic disruptions are therefore to be expected from Friday late afternoon onwards.
