On Tuesday 11 November 2025, the Luxembourg Administration of Bridges and Roads announced that as part of the ongoing improvement of road infrastructure, traffic on the on the A1 motorway towards Luxembourg will be affected from Friday 14 to Monday 17 November.
According to the administration they will replace the expansion joints on the engineering structure located above the Schaffner roundabout, on the A1 motorway towards Luxembourg, beginning Friday 14 November at approximately 23:00 and will finish on Monday 17 November at approximately 04:00.
Traffic on the A1 motorway will be reduced to a single lane in both directions with a maximum speed limit of 70 km/h to ensure the safety of road users and work crews on site.
The administration said that as part of the works, the number of access points to the motorway will be reduced and diversions will be put in place with temporary road signage.
The following access points will be closed:
• Access at the Hamm interchange towards the A1 in both directions
The administration has advised that road users wishing to access the A1 motorway from the Hamm interchange will be redirected via the N2A, N1A, N1 and the Senningerberg interchange. Preparatory works required for converting the motorway to the temporary traffic layout will be carried out a few hours before the start of the construction works. Traffic disruptions are therefore expected from late Friday afternoon.
