Following the resignation of Georges Mischo, announced on Monday 8 December 2025, Marc Spautz and Martine Hansen have officially assumed their respective roles as Luxembourg's Minister of Labour and Minister of Sport.
On the morning of Thursday 11 December 2025, Grand Duke Guillaume received Georges Mischo in a farewell audience on the occasion of the cessation of his ministerial duties. Georges Mischo had been sworn in as Minister of Labour and Minister of Sport on 17 November 2023, alongside other members of the newly formed CSV-DP coalition government.
Later on Thursday morning, the Grand Duke, in the presence of Luxembourg's Prime Minister Luc Frieden, swore in Marc Spautz as a newly appointed member of the government. The Grand Duke and the Prime Minister subsequently signed the decree of appointment.
Martine Hansen, already serving as Luxembourg's Minister of Agriculture, Food and Viticulture and Minister for Consumer Protection, also formally assumed the portfolio of Minister of Sport.
The swearing-in ceremony was followed by an official photograph in the presence of Grand Duke Guillaume, Prime Minister Frieden, Minister Hansen and Minister Spautz.
The ministerial appointments follow the unanimous approval of the Christian Social People's Party (CSV) national council on Wednesday evening.
Moreover, Laurent Zeimet has been elected the CSV's new parliamentary group president, taking over from Marc Spautz who stepped down to assume his ministerial duties.
