On Tuesday 30 April 2024, Luxembourg’s Minister for Research and Higher Education and Minister of Digitalisation, Stéphanie Obertin, welcomed Tadahiro Matsubara, Ambassador of Japan to Luxembourg, for a courtesy visit to Luxembourg’s Ministry of Research and Higher Education.

During this interview, the subjects of inter-university collaboration and student exchanges between Japan and Luxembourg were discussed, among other things, as well as current and future cooperation between the research institutes of the two countries. Finally, the exchange focused on the respective challenges and projects in terms of digitalisation.

The Ambassador and the Minister agreed that good ties between the two countries should be strengthened and that further cooperation should be encouraged, including research collaboration in strategic areas such as data science or space research.
