On Thursday 28 August 2025, the Commercial Union of the Ville de Luxembourg presented details of this year's Luxembourg City Braderie, which will be held on Monday 1 September 2025.
The press conference took place at the Madame Jeanette bar-restaurant in Luxembourg-Gare with Mayor Lydie Polfer, Alderman Maurice Bauer, and representatives of the UCVL including Mireille Rahmé-Bley, Anne Darin and Malvina Gelezuinas.
The 96th edition of the Braderie will take place in Ville Haute and Gare districts of Luxembourg City, with more than 200 retailers and catering establishments setting up shop for visitors.
As presented at the press conference, this year's Braderie will feature a wide range of new activities and attractions, such as LudoLand with wooden and multidimensional games, Lego workshops and the I Love Graffiti workshop led by designer Alex, all open from 10:00 to 18:00 on Place de Paris. Also, two prize machines will be installed at the Place de Paris kiosk and on Avenue de la Gare, offering more than €10,000 worth of prizes sponsored by local retailers, with support from various partners. The Braderie will also offer diverse food options from both cafés and restaurants. A new highlight of this year's Braderie is the presence of an RSQ helicopter, expected to attract strong public interest.
In an interview with Chronicle.lu, Anne Darin of the UCVL explained that the time of Braderie has been chosen for a good reason - it is the beginning of the school season, so this is a place where to buy new things for the upcoming semester. She also highlighted the particular importance of independent retailers who use the occasion to present new collections and sell their end-of-summer stock for attractive prices. Anne emphasised that the Braderie is not only for good deals and latest trends, but also a festive city event with activities, food, music and entertainment for everyone.
To ensure the safety and comfort of everyone attending, there will be around 65 security officers expected, mobilised public services and additional hygiene, such as extra cleaning services during and after the event. As accessibility remains a priority, there will be numerous parking options and free parking hours at the weekend. Visitors are also urged to use public transport. The Braderie continues to grow as both a commercial opportunity for retailers and a festive day for the community.
