On Friday 24 October 2025, the Luxembourg Veterinary and Food Administration (ALVA) announced the recall of Lotus brand Favourite Moments and plain Liège waffles, milk chocolate and chocolate sugar pearls products due to the possible presence of plastic-like foreign bodies.
The following products have been recalled:
⁃ Lotus Favourite Moments 21 pieces, 704 g; use-by dates: 09/12/2025; 16/12/2025; period of sale: since 28/09/2025
⁃ Lotus Plain Liège waffles, milk chocolate and chocolate sugar pearls, various types and weights; use-by dates: 12/12/2025; 14/12/2025; 15/12/2025; 16/12/2025; 17/12/2025; 25/12/2025; 26/12/2025; 27/12/2025; 28/12/2025; 29/12/2025; 30/12/2025; 01/01/2026; 02/01/2026; 03/01/2026; 04/01/2026; period of sale: since 28/09/2025
The products have been on sale in various stores across Luxembourg.
There is currently an orange awareness level alert in place (i.e. medium risk/danger).
ALVA warned that consumption of foreign bodies such as plastic pose a risk of suffocation or internal injury.
