As part of its “pop-up stores” project, the City of Luxembourg (VdL) is launching a call for applications for the rental of the two premises located in the Gare district.

By offering short-term commercial rentals, the VdL enables creators, entrepreneurs and startups to test new products, services or concepts directly with customers. The “pop-up store” model serves as a springboard, giving tenants initial experience in a physical shop before committing long-term. These temporary shops also help to broaden the city’s commercial offer and attract a diverse audience.

The VdL is currently offering two pop-up store locations, one at 1 Rue de Strasbourg for a temporary shop in December 2025, and another at 64 Avenue de la Liberté for a temporary shop from mid-January 2026.

The pop-up store on Rue de Strasbourg offers a surface area of 63 m2 with a storage space. Proposals are being accepted in the sectors of clothing, accessories and jewellery, home equipment, services and leisure, care and beauty, art, fashion and photography, and packaged dry food, with the option to offer fresh products thanks to a refrigerated display case.

The pop-up store on Avenue de la Liberté offers 280 m2 across two floors, along with a technical room in the basement. Proposals are being accepted in the sectors of clothing, accessories and jewellery, home equipment, services and leisure, care and beauty, art, fashion and photography, and packaged dry food.

For both premises, the minimum rental period is one month and the maximum is six months, with a possible extension of up to three months depending on availability. Monthly rent ranges from €650 to €2,250, with a general charge fee added.

Interested entrepreneurs, shop owners or startups have until Sunday 7 December 2025 to submit their application, using the form available on the VdL website.

Only complete applications including the form and a project description will be taken into consideration. The selection criteria include the availability of candidates as well as the originality and quality of the proposed concepts.

Owners of temporarily vacant commercial spaces who wish to join the project may contact the Economic and Commercial Development Unit of the VdL (via tel: 4796-5000, Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 12:00 and from 14:00 to 17:00 / via email: dec@vdl.lu).
