On Wednesday 25 February 2026, Lidl Luxembourg will officially open its new store in Diekirch (Route d'Ettelbruck 26) at 08:00.

The official opening will take place in the presence of the Diekirch Mayor Charles "Charel" Weiler. The store will mark the occasion by offering promotions to the customers.

According to Lidl, the new store will offer 1,656 m² of sales area, an increase of more than 1,000 m² compared to the former site in Ingeldorf. The store will also feature eight self-checkout tills and the 137-space car park with sixteen 22 kW charging points and four 124 kW fast chargers.

Lidl said the Diekirch opening forms part of a broader strategy “to modernise and expand” its store network across Luxembourg. Like Diekirch, several locations will see their sales area expanded, or even doubled, in the near future. This includes Pétange, where Lidl plans to relocate to a new store twice as spacious before the end-of-year holidays.

“With Diekirch, we are clearly moving up a level. We wanted to create a store with space to move around and services that truly make life easier, such as our new ultra-fast charging stations. This new, more comfortable and modern standard is what we plan to roll out across Luxembourg, whether in Pétange very soon or along the main routes around the capital. Our goal is simple: to offer the best shopping experience in the country, while remaining the cheapest,” said Walériane Dubois-Decroix, spokesperson for Lidl Belgium & Lidl Luxembourg.
