The European Union Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA) has announced that CYSEC, a European cybersecurity company headquartered in Esch-sur-Alzette, has been selected as one of twelve European start-ups to be awarded a €100,000 prize to scale their technology.

According to the EUSPA, the prize was awarded as part of the CASSINI Challenges, a launchpad for space entrepreneurs. The objective of the competition is to back the most disruptive commercial technologies utilising EU Space infrastructure to solve high-stakes global challenges in deep-tech and climate resilience.

CYSEC’s winning technology, ARCA SATCOM, features an encrypted performance-enhancing network proxy that allows governments to securely adopt commercial satellite communication services with GOVSATCOM-grade safety and zero latency.

The EUSPA said: “It is the first European Performance-Enhancing Proxy with built-in encryption, enabling governments to adopt commercial SATCOM services at GOVSATCOM-grade security — with 30% better throughput and zero latency penalty. Validated with Viasat & Hellas-Sat and CNES, it directly addresses EUSPA's mission to secure EU governmental satellite communications.”

The winners of the CASSINI Challenges will be officially presented at CASSINI Entrepreneurship Days 2026 which takes place in Prague, Czech Republic, from Wednesday 30 September to Thursday 1 October 2026.

The CASSINI Entrepreneurship Days will present some of the most innovative solutions nourished under CASSINI initiative. The event will bring together investors, corporates, accelerators, the start-up community and anyone interested to hear from the EU start-ups and how their space-based innovations are supporting the EU strategic agenda.
