On Tuesday 3 June 2025, the Chamber of Employees (Chambre des Salariés - CSL) announced it had begun collecting data for the 2025 Quality of Work Index Luxembourg survey.

The survey, undertaken in cooperation with the University of Luxembourg, will be undertaken by the Institute for Applied Social Sciences (infas), in Bonn, Germany and will look at working conditions and employee well-being in the Grand Duchy.

The CSL noted that this year the survey will focus on expectations and opportunities for continuing professional training.

According to the CSL, around 18,000 individuals will be contacted between early June and September 2025. Among them, 2,000 panel participants have been invited for telephone interviews. In addition, the General Inspectorate of Social Security (IGSS) has randomly selected 16,000 people from the official register. These individuals will receive a letter inviting them to take part in the survey. They can choose to participate either through a telephone interview or by completing an online questionnaire. The CSL stressed that participation is voluntary and all responses will be treated with strict anonymity.

The survey takes approximately 20 minutes to complete and is intended for people aged sixteen to 64 who work at least ten hours per week, either residing in Luxembourg or commuting as cross-border workers from Germany, Belgium or France.

The CSL said that “having reliable data is essential in order to assess the constantly evolving world of work and to advocate effectively for employee interests”.
