On Tuesday 28 April 2026, the University of Luxembourg announced that Katalin Ligeti has decided to step down from her role as Dean of the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance.
Her resignation will take effect on Sunday 31 May 2026, and she will continue to handle day-to-day affairs until then while remaining within the Faculty as a Full Professor.
The University of Luxembourg thanked her for her commitment and for the work she has carried out as Dean since 2017.
The Rectorate has initiated the necessary steps to organise the next stages, which it will communicate in due course. The University of Luxembourg added that the Faculty will continue to ensure the continuity of its teaching and research activities.
