Luxembourg's national railway company, the CFL, is celebrating "World Bicycle Day" on Tuesday 3 June 2025.
Established by the United Nations (UN), World Bicycle Day highlights the benefits of cycling for health, for the fluidity of mobility and for reducing the carbon impact of individual travel.
After a successful first edition, the CFL and its partners are putting together a new event dedicated to cycling as a means of transport and a source of enjoyment. For the second event organised in this context, the CFL is inviting cyclists and anyone else interested in cycling to head to the forecourt of the Pfaffenthal-Kirchberg interchange from 11:00 to 17:30, as well as at Belval-Université train station from 17:00 to 22:00, on Tuesday 3 June 2025. The event will highlight cycling and related leisure activities and offer an opportunity to gather useful information on the Luxembourg cycling scene.
The programme features food and various activities, including: discovery of the CFL's cycling-related offer; free registration for the use of secure bikebox bicycle parking; a repair workshop with the Automobile Club of Luxembourg (ACL); e-bike tours with Sightseeing.lu to discover the green spaces and gardens designed for the LUGA - Luxembourg Urban Garden exhibition; a guided bike tour of the city (bring your own bicycle) with Velosophie; a tour along the Family-Unesco Tour with Youthhostels. Two "Afterwork Bike Tours" will also be offered in collaboration with Provelo.lu, Haus vum Velo and the City (municipality) of Esch-sur-Alzette. In the evening, an "After Ride Drink" awaits participants at Belval-Université.
