On Saturday 4 October 2025, Luxembourg Minister for Home Affairs, Léon Gloden, attended the “Munich Migration Meeting”, at the invitation of the German Federal Minister of the Interior, Alexander Dobrindt.

According to the Ministry for Home Affairs, the meeting in Munich (Germany) focused on European migration policy and participants included the Interior and Migration Ministers of Belgium, Denmark, Poland, Sweden, the Netherlands and Switzerland, as well as the EU Commissioner for Home Affairs and Migration.

The ministers discussed current issues relating to European migration policy: the implementation of the EU Migration and Asylum Pact, cooperation agreements with third countries, and reforms of return policy.

The ministry stated that during the meeting Minister Gloden reminded the Commission of its responsibility to restore Dublin transfers of asylum seekers in order to maintain a balance between solidarity and responsibility.

He also reiterated his support for a responsible migration policy “with heart and mind” and to “take humanitarian responsibility without overburdening society”.
