Director of Film Fund Luxembourg, Guy Daleiden and Director of RTL Programmes, Steve Schmit, yesterday announced the launch of a new daily children's TV series which will be broadcast from 5 October 2015.

'TIRLITVI - Planet Kids' will celebrate five recent animated series made by Luxembourg production companies and supported by Film Fund Luxembourg.

The animation production sector of the Grand Duchy has been growing in recent years, as evidenced by numerous awards and nominations received by Luxembourgish productions. However, although many 'made in Luxembourg' animated feature films are aired at cinemas here in the country, the same cannot be said for cartoon series, which are most often co-produced by large foreign channels and do not subsequently always enter the Luxembourg market.

With this in mind, Film Fund Luxembourg, RTL and the animation production companies Fabrique d'Images, Melusine Productions and Doghouse Films decided in 2014 to create a daily 'youth outlet' within the RTL Télé Lëtzebuerg programme to allow the young Luxembourg demographic access to these series.

The decision was also made to translate all of these productions into Luxembourgish. Following a call for tender launched in late 2014, the series adaptation and dubbing process, comprising 2,200 minutes in total, was handed over to Linster Studios.

The first season of 'TIRLITVI - Planet Kids' will include the following series: 'Solli a Pucki' (Fils de Wouf) from Doghouse Films; 'Déi duerchdriwwen Dräi (Les Triplés) and 'Déi grouss Rees vum klenge Marco Parlo' (The Adventures of Young Marco Polo) from Melusine Productions; and 'De Percy a seng Frënn' (Percy et ses Amis) and 'Polo' from Fabrique d'Images.

'TIRLITVI - Planet Kids' will be broadcast on RTL Télé 18:00-18:30 on weekdays, 09:00-11:00 and 18:00-19:00 on Saturdays, and 09:00-11:00 and 18:00-18:30 on Sundays.
