On Monday morning, the body of a woman was discovered in a car-park in a forest between Strassen and Bridel.
The grim discovery was made at around 05:00 in the Freiheetsbaam car park. The Grand Ducal Police have comfirmed that the corpse is of a 27 year-old woman of Romanian nationality who was last seen at around 22:00 on Sunday evening in Luxembourg City, on the corner of rue du Fort Wedell and rue de Hollerich.. As they suspect that a violent crime was committed, the public prosecutor has ordered a criminal investigation be carried out
The police have launched a call for information and members of the public who may have seen this woman on Sunday eveing/night are asked to contact them on tel: 2442-9500 or tel: 113.
One such witness has already reported seeing a woman's black handbag at a bridge over the A6 motorway at the Mamer-Capellen junction; however, when they arrived, the bag had been removed.
