On Friday 4 September 2026, Luxembourg City Alderman responsible for festivals and markets, Patrick Goldschmidt, and President of the National Federation of Fairground Traders, Charles Hary, attended a flower-laying ceremony at the monument dedicated to John the Blind (Jean l’Aveugle) in Luxembourg-Limpertsberg.
The ceremony took place following the traditional fairground workers’ mass and paid tribute to John the Blind, King of Bohemia and Count of Luxembourg, who founded the Schueberfouer in 1340.
The two representatives also recalled the history and importance of the Schueberfouer in Luxembourg.
