On Thursday afternoon, a 51 year-old farmer from Lannen lost his life in an accident on a dirt track between Ospern and Reichlingen.
The farmer was driving a farm vehicle which toppled over and trapped him. A family member came across the scene of the accident and raised the alarm. By the time the emergency services arrived at the scene of the accident, the farmer was declared dead at the scene. A forklift truck was used to free the body of the deceased.
The public prosecutor has ordered an investigation into the cause of the accident.
