On Wednesday 8 April 2026, the Luxembourg City Tourist Office (LCTO) published visitor figures for the recent Easter Weekend from Friday 3 to Monday 6 April.

The LCTO said that the long Easter weekend attracted both local and international visitors to the capital of the Grand Duchy and the high number of visitors underlined Luxembourg’s appeal as a versatile urban destination.

According to the LCTO, during the Easter holidays the information office located at the Knuedler welcomed 2,265 visitors. The largest group came from Germany (884), followed by France (330) and the Netherlands (96). Local residents also showed strong interest, with 144 visitors living in Luxembourg recorded at the information office.

The guided tours offered by the LCTO also proved successful. In total, 492 participants discovered the capital in the company of official guides. The “Easter Safari” was particularly popular: with 116 participants, it was nearly fully booked and once again demonstrated the potential of family-friendly formats. In addition, eighteen private guided tours were booked.

With 5,313 visitors in just four days, the LCTO said the Bock Casemates confirmed their status as one of the capital’s main attractions. The Pétrusse Casemates also enjoyed strong success, with 1,859 visitors.

According to the LCTO, another highlight was the 197th edition of Éimaischen. Organised by the Events, Festivities and Markets Service of the City of Luxembourg and the “Comité Alstad”, this traditional event transformed the old town into a vibrant celebration, where music, traditions and the famous “Péckvillercher” attracted thousands of visitors and contributed to an authentic and convivial atmosphere.

The LCTO also revealed that interest in Luxembourg City as a destination was also reflected online: the website luxembourg-city.com recorded 47,388 page views from 20,108 users over the Easter weekend, highlighting Luxembourg’s strong international visibility as a tourist destination.

The LCTO said: “The Easter weekend clearly showed that Luxembourg City is fully prepared for the 2026 tourist season. Thanks to innovative offerings, traditional festivities and growing international interest, the capital continues its successful commitment to high-quality tourism.”
