Luxembourg’s Athletics Federation (Fédération Luxembourgeoise d'Athlétisme - FLA) reported on the performances of Oscar Husting (FOLA) and Daniel Straub (CSL), who represented the Grand Duchy at the European U18 Championships, held in Rieti (Italy) from Thursday 16 to Sunday 19 July 2026.

Oscar Husting recorded a new personal best of 55.32 seconds in the 400m hurdles, while Daniel Straub clocked 14.38 seconds (+0.1 m/s) in the 110m hurdles, his second-fastest time of the season. Despite a slower-than-usual reaction time of 0.256 seconds, the latter delivered a solid performance against strong European opposition on his international debut but did not progress beyond the heats.

According to the FLA, the championships marked an important stage in the development of both young athletes. The federation also congratulated the athletes, their coaches, clubs and support teams, wishing them continued success for the remainder of the season.
