On Tuesday 21 April 2026, the Fédération des Industries Luxembourgeoises (FEDIL) announced the official launch of the call for entries for its 2026 Innovation Award.

The announcement by FEDIL coincides with World Creativity and Innovation Day and the federation revealed that the 2026 edition of the biennial award is being organised for the first time in collaboration with the national innovation agency Luxinnovation and with the support of Banque de Luxembourg.

Awarded alternately each year with FEDIL's Environment Award, the Innovation Award highlights projects offering significant added value to the Luxembourg economy. It recognises innovators and researchers working within companies as well as independent innovators and young talent. Submitted projects must stand out for their innovative nature, originality and potential contribution to Luxembourg’s economic development.

The jury, comprising experts from the public and private sectors, will announce the winners at a ceremony on Monday 30 November 2026, which will take place in the auditorium of the Banque de Luxembourg in Luxembourg-Ville.

“Since 1982, FEDIL has been committed, through this award, to encouraging research, a spirit of innovation and excellence within companies. To date, 96 winners have been honoured. This 27th edition will mark the symbolic milestone of 100 awards, thus illustrating our long-standing commitment to creativity and technological progress,” emphasised René Winkin, General Manager of FEDIL.

“For over 40 years, Luxinnovation and FEDIL have shared the same objective: to make innovation a driver of sustainable economic development for Luxembourg. As an innovation agency, we support nearly a thousand companies each year in their innovation initiatives, from start-ups to established large groups. Collaborating with FEDIL on this award is fully in line with our mission to recognise and encourage the concrete innovation efforts of our companies, which are essential for remaining competitive,” explained Mario Grotz, CEO of Luxinnovation.
