On Wednesday 1 July 2026, the annual presentation ceremony for the International Certification of Digital Literacy (ICDL) took place at the premises of the Chamber of Employees (CSL).

The event was attended by Sylvain Hoffmann, Director of the Chamber of Employees (CSL), Sophie Mathieu, Deputy Director of the Vocational Training Service at the Ministry of Education, Children and Youth, Olivier Georges, Secretary of the Board of Directors of the Association of Engineers and Scientists of Luxembourg and Françoise Droulans, I-VET Manager at the Chamber of Commerce.

The CSL reported that this year's ceremony recognised 481 newly certified young people: 326 students pursuing the Technician Diploma (DT) and 155 apprentices working towards the Vocational Aptitude Diploma (DAP), from administrative and commercial training programmes and, from this year onwards, the DT programme in Tourism and Communication, which has been added to these courses.

The CSL noted that for more than ten years, the Chamber of Employees, the Chamber of Commerce, the Association of Engineers and Scientists of Luxembourg and the Ministry of Education, Children and Youth have jointly supported the introduction of the ICDL certification into these initial vocational training programmes, with the aim of recognising practical, industry-recognised digital skills that meet the needs of the modern workplace.

The CSL said: “At a time when artificial intelligence is becoming increasingly prevalent, mastering the fundamentals remains essential, enabling people to use digital tools with discernment, responsibility and efficiency. The ICDL certification in office applications therefore continues to provide an essential foundation for using new technologies with confidence, security and critical thinking. For both the young people who have obtained the certification and their future employers, the ICDL provides a trusted benchmark and a tangible added value as they enter an ever-evolving professional world.”
