On Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 January 2026, the first matches of the Enovos Basketball Leagues took place across Luxembourg following the Christmas break, with a change at the top of the men’s championship standings.
Men’s League: Ettelbruck Defeat Sparta as Arantia and Esch Impress
On Game Day 13, current champions Etzella Ettelbruck faced league leaders Sparta Bertrange away from home. Although the hosts entered the game just one win ahead in the standings (11-1), Karl Abou Khalil’s team were unable to maintain their advantage. Etzella led 30-23 at half-time, driven by Nicholas Thomas Davis, who scored ten points in the first half, and Adrian Jermaine Delph with nine. Sparta were unable to close the gap after the break, losing the third quarter as well, and the final buzzer confirmed a 69-61 victory for Ettelbruck. American centre Nicholas Thomas Davis finished as the game’s top scorer with 25 points. Both teams now share an identical record of eleven wins and two losses.
In another Game Day 13 fixture, Arantia Larochette comfortably defeated bottom-placed AB Contern 120-87, consolidating their position in the top three of the standings with a record of ten wins and three losses.
In the battle for fourth place, Basket Esch secured an emphatic 82-45 away victory over current league finalists T71 Dudelange. More than half of Esch’s points came from forward Clancy Mac Rugg, who scored 22 points, and guard Quinten Nelson, who added 21. As a result, Esch now hold a record of eight wins and five losses, while T71 drop to seven wins and six defeats.

Women’s League: T71 Maintain Perfect Record as Contern Strengthen Fourth Place
League leaders T71 Dudelange extended their unbeaten run to eleven games on Game Day 12, cruising to a comprehensive 91–53 victory over bottom-placed Musel Pikes. Coached by Mathieu Pierre Fivet, T71 dominated all four quarters, with Lauren Anne Van Kleunen leading the way with a double-double of 28 points and eleven rebounds. Musel Pikes now sit on two wins from ten games.
Meanwhile, AB Contern strengthened their hold on fourth place with an 82–53 away win over Les Sangliers Wiltz, who remain on two victories this season. Contern’s Ann Walsh was the top scorer of the game, contributing 25 points, as her side moved to a balanced record of five wins and five losses.
