Stëmm vun der Strooss, a Luxembourg-based non-profit organisation supporting people experiencing homelessness and other vulnerable members of society, has reported that its social restaurant in Esch-sur-Alzette experienced "a day marked by conviviality and solidarity" on Sunday 1 March 2026.

Continuing a well-established tradition, Lions Club Esch-sur-Alzette organised its annual raclette event in support of Stëmm vun der Strooss' beneficiaries.

This year, nearly 150 people shared a meal between 11:45 and 16:00 at the organisation's premises at 112 Rue du Canal in Esch-sur-Alzette. Around 20 Lions Club members volunteered their time to prepare and serve raclette, accompanied by potatoes, ham, pickles and other garnishes. The gathering concluded "on a sweet note" with apple tart topped with whipped cream.

For the fifteenth consecutive year, Lions Club Esch-sur-Alzette has supported Stëmm vun der Strooss through this charitable initiative, which the non-profit described as having become "a key fixture of its social commitment" over the years. Club President Lieven Decroos was present during this day dedicated to "generosity" and "fellowship".

On this occasion, the Lions Club also presented a donation of €1,000 to Stëmm vun der Strooss, demonstrating its concrete support for initiatives benefiting the most vulnerable members of the community.

Representing Stëmm vun der Strooss, President André Dübbers and Director Alexandra Oxacelay thanked the Lions Club volunteers for their longstanding commitment and loyalty. They emphasised that "such moments of conviviality offer much more than a meal: they create connection, human warmth and a genuine spirit of solidarity."

Alexandra Oxacelay stated: "As 2026 marks the 30th anniversary of Stëmm, such an event is a wonderful example of how solidarity can be celebrated in a very concrete way - by bringing comfort and support to our beneficiaries."
