On Thursday 5 March 2026, Cactus reported that it had donated more than €10,500 to Europa Donna Luxembourg, a non-profit organisation dedicated to the fight against breast cancer.
Cactus said the donation reflected its commitment to women's health and well-being. Thanks to the mobilisation of its customers and teams, the retailer was able to present a cheque for €10,587.10 to support the awareness, prevention and support initiatives carried out by the non-profit organisation.
As part of the "Pink October" solidarity campaign, Cactus offered customers a selection of charitable products, allowing them to transform each purchase into a concrete act of support. The supermarket chain donated €0.10 for each solidarity éclair sold, €2.50 for each bra purchased, as well as additional contributions on new products launched this year, including €0.50 per selected Weleda product, €0.50 per bag of Haribo LOVE sweets and €2.50 for each Frosch Aloe Vera and Frosch Baby laundry detergent sold.
This collective effort raised €10,587.10, which was entirely donated to Europa Donna Luxembourg to support its initiatives and strengthen its work promoting early detection, access to care and support for women affected by breast cancer.
"Each solidarity purchase demonstrates the commitment and generosity of our customers, as well as the dedication of our teams. Together, we are helping to support concrete projects that make a real difference in the lives of the women affected and their families," emphasised Cathy Leesch, Marketing Director at Cactus. "This commitment is fully aligned with our desire to give meaning to our actions and to provide long-term support for causes essential to our society."
Europa Donna Luxembourg is the national branch of the Europa Donna - European Breast Cancer Coalition. The association works to inform and raise awareness among the public, encourage early detection, improve access to treatment and support women affected by the disease.
The funds raised during the "Pink October" campaign will contribute in particular to a family support project developed in collaboration with the Fondation Cancer and Arcus. This free service is intended for parents with cancer who have children under the age of thirteen and aims to ease their daily lives by providing concrete support with family tasks, such as homework help, extracurricular activities, meal preparation and certain household chores.
"We warmly thank Cactus and its customers for their continued commitment and generosity. This invaluable support allows us to continue our work and assist families during particularly difficult times," said Mariete Fischbach, President of Europa Donna Luxembourg.
Through this partnership, Cactus said it was reaffirming its role as a committed and responsible organisation, working alongside local associations to support meaningful initiatives and actively contribute to the well-being of the community. The retailer also thanked its customers for their solidarity and commitment, which help transform every gesture into a genuine act of support.
