On Wednesday 18 June 2025, ChinaLux held its Annual General Meeting at the Hotel Le Royal in Luxembourg city centre.
Around 50 people attended the formal meeting at which the agenda saw them reviewing past activities and holding elections.
ChinaLux President Zhujun Xie, along with Vice Presidents Jacques Bortuzzo and Geoffrey Party, presented a comprehensive review of the chamber's activities in 2024 and the first half of 2025, in English, covering key developments in membership growth, relationship building, event organisation, communications and financial highlights.
The meeting also elected 22 Executive Board Directors.
Following the AGM, the newly-formed Executive Board convened its first meeting, at which Jacques Bortuzzo was elected as the new Chinalux President, succeeding Zhujun Xie who was appointed as Chinalux's new Honorary President. The new Vice Presidents were confirmed as Geoffrey Party, Kelly Jorritsma and Jingya Tian.
Talking with Chronicle.lu, Jacques Bortuzzo said "I have been on the Executive Board of Chinalux since its creation in 2013 and I have been Vice President in charge of Events and Communications since 2019. This means I know ChinaLux very well and I can continue the work of the former President Zhujun Xie. The objective of ChinaLux is to attract more members and to become more influential, and so to contribute more to the relationship between China and Luxembourg. Together with the Vice Presidents Geoffrey Party, Kelly Jorritsma and Jingya Tian, together with the Executive Board and Advisory Board members, as well as together with all the Founding, Sustaining, Corporate and Individual members, I will give my very best to make this happen. Many thanks to Zhujun Xie, now Honorary President, for all her support over the past years, and the years to come of course".
