Danish non-profit organisation Danes Worldwide has announced it will host an information evening for Danish citizens in Luxembourg from 18:00 to 21:00 on Wednesday 29 April 2026, at Centre Culturel Oetrange in Contern.
The organisers said the event aims to provide an update on subjects such as citizenship, pensions, admission to Danish universities and returning to Denmark, and will also be an opportunity for those in attendance to learn about the work of Danes.
The evening is organised in cooperation with the Danish Embassy in Belgium, the Danish Church in Luxembourg, the Danish Association in Luxembourg, VL in Luxembourg (Association of Business Leaders), KFUM Scouts in Luxembourg, 60+ Network – Danes in Luxembourg and the Facebook group “Danes in Luxembourg”.
The meeting is open to all Danish nationals and those with an interest in Denmark and will be conducted in Danish; however, questions may also be asked in English.
Membership of Danes Worldwide is not a requirement for participation. However, registration is required.
Programme:
18:00 - Networking and the opportunity to purchase Danish sausages, as well as drinks and cake
18:15 - Welcome from the evening’s hosts
18:20 - Brief introduction to the Danish organisations in Luxembourg
18:40 - Michael Bach Petersen, Secretary-General of Danes Worldwide, will speak about the association’s work, including Danish language teaching and key policy issues
19:15 - Break. Networking and the opportunity to purchase Danish sausages, as well as drinks and cake
19:45 - Karoline Blyt, Legal Adviser at Danes Worldwide, will provide the latest update on the topics most requested by participants
20:15 - Open discussion and opportunity to ask questions, followed by networking
21:00 - The event concludes
The organisers have announced that attendees will have the opportunity to book a one-to-one meeting with Legal Adviser Karoline Blyt on the morning following the event, which can take place either in person or online and will last up to 25 minutes.
