On Thursday 11 December 2025, Luxembourg’s Ministry of Digitalisation organised the third edition of Simplification Day (Journée de la simplification), bringing together nearly 90 public service employees to exchange views on promoting a more efficient, transparent administration focused on the needs of citizens and businesses.

According to the ministry, the day began with a presentation of the Simplification Council and its activities carried out during 2025, including so-called “simplification cafés”, exchanges with other administrations and consultation work conducted with citizens, businesses and the scientific community. It added that a presentation of a study on the impact of participation and the results achieved illustrated the concrete benefits of collaborative approaches.

The ministry reported that participants then discovered the life-events catalogues for state administrative procedures, recently developed by the Simplification Council. It explained that this tool aims to group sequential or interdependent administrative procedures around key moments in the lives of citizens and businesses, in order to enhance efficiency and access to public services.

In the afternoon participants took part in a practical collaborative workshop focused on these life-events catalogues, initiating reflection on the administrative procedures linked to one or another life event.
