Luxembourg's Ministry of Culture has reported that Culture Minister Eric Thill visited Venice, Italy for the official opening of the Luxembourg Pavilion on Thursday 8 May 2025, as part of the 19th International Architecture Exhibition - La Biennale Di Venezia.

Entitled "Sonic Investigations", the project led by the curatorial trio Valentin Bansac, Mike Fritsch and Alice Loumeau, and enriched by contributions from artists and researchers Ludwig Berger, Peter Szendy and Anthea Caddy, invites visitors on a sensory immersion into the heart of Luxembourg's soundscapes. Through an innovative approach to architecture through listening and acoustic perception, the pavilion is described as fully in line with the theme of this edition, conceived by General Curator Carlo Ratti: "Intelligens. Natural. Artificial. Collective."

During the opening ceremony, Minister Thill praised the ambitious and sensitive commitment of the curators and artists, saying: "More than an exhibition, we are discovering an immersive sound experience. The Luxembourg Pavilion goes beyond simple visual representation to explore sound as a method of investigation and a tool for understanding our geographies."

The minister also emphasised the importance of this participation for Luxembourg's international cultural influence, thanking the exhibition curators Kultur | lx – Arts Council Luxembourg and the Luxembourg Center for Architecture (LUCA) for their continued support throughout the project.

In addition to the opening of the Luxembourg Pavilion, the official delegation visited several national pavilions, including those of Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, France and Germany, as well as selected projects from the International Expo in various emblematic locations in Venice.

The opening programme culminated in a reception bringing together artists, curators, cultural representatives and international guests for a "convivial" and "festive" experience, according to the ministry.

Located in the Sala d'Armi on the first floor of the Arsenale, the Luxembourg Pavilion will welcome visitors throughout the 19th International Architecture Exhibition, from Saturday 10 May to Sunday 23 November 2025.
