The 26th edition of LE MUR Luxembourg, featuring art by Didier “JABA” Mathieu;

On Monday 20 July 2026, the City of Luxembourg (VdL) reported on the launch of the 26th edition of LE MUR Luxembourg, which features artwork by JABA, whose real name is Didier Mathieu.
The project LE MUR was initiated by I Love Graffiti asbl, with the support of the VdL, and sees the façade of the Lëtzebuerg City Museum painted with original artwork from a different artist each month.
Didier “JABA” Mathieu, who is originally from Colombia and has been based in Belgium since he was a child, is recognised as one of the leading figures of Belgian street art. Trained at the Saint-Luc Institute in Liège, he has developed a visual universe inspired by comics, manga, science fiction and futuristic worlds, combining vibrant colours, dynamic forms and imaginary landscapes.
At the same time, he has worked as a concept artist in the film industry, at a subsidiary of Lucasfilm Ltd based in Singapore, contributing to internationally renowned productions. This experience has influenced his artistic approach and strengthened the visual and narrative dimension of his work.
The VdL remarked: “Present both in public spaces and galleries, his creations demonstrate a rich imagination and technical mastery that have earned him international recognition.”
The official opening of the artwork took place on Friday 17 July in the presence of the artist and Charles Delogne, Ambassador of Belgium to Luxembourg.
