On Friday 12 June 2026, Luxembourg's government and the Schütz Group signed an agreement aimed at securing the long-term future of Euro-Composites' industrial site in Echternach and strengthening activities in the defence and space sectors.
Lex Delles, Luxembourg's Minister of the Economy, SMEs, Energy and Tourism, joined Roland Straßburger, CEO of the Schütz Group, and Christoph Herrmann, CEO of Euro-Composites, in signing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the minister's visit to the company.
According to Luxembourg's Ministry of the Economy, the agreement is intended to reinforce the long-term sustainability of the Echternach site and strengthen the German group's presence in strategic sectors in Luxembourg, particularly defence and space. It reflects a shared commitment to maintaining industrial activities and further developing Schütz's footprint in the Grand Duchy.
The ministry noted that the Echternach site occupies a central position in the group's growth and innovation ambitions. In this context, the objective is to preserve and develop employment. The agreement also opens the way for enhanced research, development and innovation (RDI) activities, particularly in the fields of defence and space.
As previously reported, the family-owned multinational industrial group Schütz, headquartered in Selters, announced on 1 September 2025 the acquisition of 100% of Euro-Composites, a Luxembourg-based specialist in high-performance composite materials. The acquisition covers all of the group's activities and sites in Luxembourg, Germany and the United States and is intended to ensure continuity and support future growth.
"Through this initiative, the Luxembourg government reaffirms its commitment to industrial competitiveness, the country's economic attractiveness and the development of high value-added activities," said Minister Delles during the signing ceremony.
