On Friday 5 September 2025, the Luxembourg Football Federation (FLF) announced that Luxembourg’s UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifier against France, originally scheduled for the same day, has been postponed to 3 October 2026 following an accident involving the team bus.
According to the FLF, the accident occurred on Thursday 4 September 2025 during preparations for the U21 match in France, when the bus driver suffered a medical emergency, which led to the incident.
As a precaution, five members of the U21 national team were taken to hospital with minor injuries, including cuts and bruises. All players have since been discharged in good health.
The FLF, in agreement with the French Football Federation (FFF), requested the postponement of the match, a decision which was confirmed by UEFA.
