On Monday 8 December 2025, Luxembourg’s Department of Media, Connectivity and Digital Policy (SMC) announced the launch of the “YourConnectivity Box” initiative to help to manage digital services and protect personal data.

During a press conference held on Monday, the SMC presented this new tool developed in partnership with MyConnectivity GIE and several institutional actors.

According to the SMC, this new tool forms part of the national ultra-high-speed strategy to promote accessible, transparent and secure connectivity for all.

“YourConnectivity Box” is designed to support individuals in managing their digital services and protecting their personal data. It provides answers to a range of questions structured around four themes:

- managing services to help compare offers, understand contracts and avoid hidden fees;
- building defences by securing passwords, activating two-factor authentication and protecting devices;
- detecting threats by identifying scams, checking suspicious emails and blocking fraudulent calls;
- getting help access to free mediation services and with reporting fraud.

Luxembourg's Minister Delegate to the Prime Minister for Media and Connectivity, Elisabeth Margue, stated: “This tool illustrates our commitment to making connectivity more transparent and secure for all citizens. By giving consumers the means to understand, compare and protect their digital services, we are strengthening confidence in Luxembourg’s digital ecosystem.”

The President of SYVICOL (the union of Luxembourg cities and municipalities), Emile Eicher, highlighted the role of the municipal sector in this context, saying: “As municipalities, we are very close to citizens. We are often the first to notice problems. This is why we immediately joined this project. I am also pleased that there are three pilot municipalities.”

Accessible via myco.lu/box, the tool provides simple guides, directs users to official Luxembourg tools such as CheckMyNet, StopSMS.lu and SmartCompare.lu, and offers practical advice to help people to exercise their rights in telecommunications and data protection.

The SMC added that, through this initiative, the government is confirming its aim to make connectivity accessible to all and a driver of competitiveness. The national ultra-high-speed strategy will continue through a new agreement with GIE MyConnectivity for 2025-2030 to accelerate infrastructure rollout and support individuals and businesses in the digital transition.

This ambition includes extending connectivity assistance for vulnerable households, facilitating home connections to advanced infrastructures and simplifying procedures through a one-stop shop for authorisations and a national platform for data exchange on underground infrastructure.
