On Monday 21 July 2025, Luxembourg's employment agency, ADEM, reported that there were 17,886 resident jobseekers available for work at the end of June 2025; the unemployment rate dropped slightly over one month, from 6% to 5.9%.

The number of available resident jobseekers registered with ADEM as of 30 June 2025 stood at 17,886, an increase of 803 individuals (or 4.7%) compared to June 2024. This increase particularly affected jobseekers over the age of 45 and the most qualified jobseekers (university graduates). Regarding professions, the most significant increases concerned the accounting and road transport driving sectors.

The number of new resident registrations is on the rise. A total of 2,402 residents registered with ADEM in June 2025, marking an increase of 224 individuals (or 10.3%) compared to June 2024. The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate, calculated by STATEC, dropped from 6% in May to 5.9% in June 2025.

The number of resident jobseekers receiving full unemployment benefits decreased by 216 individuals (or 2.1%) over one year, to stand at 9,862 as of 30 June 2025. A total of 4,452 individuals benefited from employment support measures, representing a 2.3% decrease compared to June 2024.

In June 2025, employers reported 2,954 vacant positions to ADEM, representing a decrease of 4.4% compared to June 2024. The total number of available positions at the end of the month was 6,867, down 9.5% compared to June last year. This decrease particularly concerned the accounting, legal and banking / finance professions, as well as business organisation and economic studies.
