The United States (US) Embassy in Luxembourg has announced that it will temporarily suspend routine in-person consular services from Monday 24 August to Friday 11 September 2026 due to planned renovation works on site.
During this period, the embassy will continue to provide emergency services for US citizens, passport renewals by mail for eligible applicants and interview-waived diplomatic and official visa processing.
US citizens seeking routine passport or citizenship services are advised to check whether they are eligible to renew their passport by mail or to schedule an appointment either before the temporary closure begins or after services resume. They may also obtain routine passport and citizenship services at another US embassy or consulate.
Routine visa and notarial services will not be available during this period.
