The Grand Ducal Police have reported that officers issued 54 fixed penalty notices for drivers using mobile phones during large-scale traffic checks carried out on Thursday 25 June 2026 in Strassen and Luxembourg-Hollerich.
According to the police, the checks focused on driver distraction and vehicle documentation. They took place on the A6 motorway towards Luxembourg City near the Strassen exit, on Route d'Arlon in Strassen and later at the end of the A4 motorway near Hollerich.
Among the offences recorded, 54 drivers received fixed penalties for using a mobile phone while driving (€250 and four penalty points), while four drivers were fined for not wearing a seat belt.
Two drivers were penalised for wearing devices that impaired their ability to hear traffic noise. One driver received a fixed penalty for inappropriate speed and another for overtaking despite a prohibition.
Police also identified six cases involving irregularities with vehicle documentation.
