On Tuesday 6 October 2026, the Grand Ducal Police launched an appeal for witnesses following a traffic accident where a cyclist was hit by a delivery van in Hassel.

According to the police, at approximately 15:15 on Monday 5 October they were notified of a traffic accident between a cyclist and a delivery van on Rue de Dalheim in Hassel, near house number 7A.

According to initial findings, the driver of the delivery van struck the cyclist while overtaking him on the left. As a result, the cyclist veered towards the kerb and fell, sustaining injuries to his shoulder and elbow.

The driver of the delivery van subsequently continued driving without stopping or taking any action regarding the accident or the damage caused.

The vehicle involved is believed to have been a dark grey Peugeot delivery van. There was a ladder attached to the left rear door. The vehicle is also believed to have been fitted with yellow registration plates.
