VdL Announces Roadworks to Close Avenue de la Gare on Sunday

On Thursday 5 February 2026, the City of Luxembourg (Ville de Luxembourg - VdL) announced that avenue de la Gare will be closed due to lifting works, which will take place on Sunday 8 February 2026 from 07:00 to 14:00, in front of the building located at 28 avenue de la Gare.

According to the VdL, the works will require the closure of avenue de la Gare between rue de Bonnevoie and boulevard d’Avranches for the entire duration of the works, with appropriate signage put in place by the City’s Traffic Department.

With regard to public transport, the following changes will apply:

• Bus lines 2, 3, 4, 5, 9, 10, 13, 14, 18, 23 and 33 will be diverted via boulevard d’Avranches in the direction of Hamilius/Monterey. The stops Wallis Quai 1 (lines 3, 5 and 33), Wallis Quai 3 (lines 2 and 9) and Al Avenue Quai 1 (lines 4, 10, 13, 14, 18 and 23) will not be served and will be replaced by the temporary stop Avranches Quai 1, located opposite 6 boulevard d’Avranches.

• Bus line 29 will be diverted via place Wallis in the direction of the Airport and Senningerberg. The stop Al Avenue Quai 1 will not be served and will be replaced by the stop Wallis Quai 2.
