On Tuesday 7 July 2026, Luxembourg's Roads and Bridges Administration announced that roadworks at the Pontpierre interchange on the A4 motorway will take place from Saturday 11 until Monday 13 July 2026.
The administration said the works, which form part of the redevelopment of the Pontpierre interchange, will involve the installation of road signage and the final connection of the new exit slip road towards Esch-sur-Alzette. The works will be carried out from 12:00 on Saturday until approximately 04:00 on Monday and have been scheduled over the weekend to limit the impact on traffic.
As part of the works, the exit from the Pontpierre interchange on the A4 towards Esch-sur-Alzette will be closed.
The motorway will also be reduced to a single lane in this direction. A clearly signposted diversion will be put in place to ensure traffic flow is maintained.
Road users wishing to reach Pontpierre from the A4 in the direction of Esch-sur-Alzette will be diverted via the Foetz interchange, then via the CR164 and CR169 to Pontpierre.
Details of the closures are available on the CITA website.
