On Tuesday 13 October 2026, Swedish electric car manufacturer Polestar presented its new Polestar 4 SUV at Polestar Luxembourg in Luxembourg-Bonnevoie.
The new model builds on the Polestar 4 Coupé, offering additional interior space, a conventional rear window and increased luggage capacity.
Lies Eeckman, Polestar's Regional Director Benelux and Managing Director Belgium & Luxembourg, opened the presentation with an update on the company's operations. Polestar reported a 34% increase in global retail sales in 2025 compared with 2024 and operated 211 sales locations worldwide at the end of 2025.
Lies Eeckman confirmed that Polestar would continue focusing exclusively on electric vehicles: "We have often been asked whether we would move into hybrids, but no. We are clearly a 100% electric brand."
She also outlined plans to introduce four new vehicles over three years, including the Polestar 5, the new Polestar 4 SUV, a new generation of the Polestar 2 scheduled for 2027 and the Polestar 7.
Gil Verheyen, Product Pricing and Campaign Manager Benelux at Polestar, then introduced the new SUV's design, specifications and pricing.
Gil Verheyen highlighted a key difference between the two Polestar 4 models: "The Coupé has no rear window, whereas the SUV does." The new model also offers an optional digital rear-view mirror.
The SUV measures 4,840 mm in length, 2,139 mm in width and 1,556 mm in height, making it 22 mm taller than the Coupé. Its luggage capacity reaches 655 litres when measured to the roof, compared with 526 litres in the Coupé, and 1,665 litres with the rear seats folded.
Other features include standard roof rails, a concealed rear window wiper and an extended panoramic glass roof, with an electrochromic version available as an option. The interior largely retains the design and materials of the Coupé.
According to preliminary specifications, both motor configurations use a 100 kWh battery. The rear-motor version produces 200 kW (272 hp), accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds and offers up to 630 km of WLTP range. The dual-motor version delivers 400 kW (544 hp), reaches 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and offers up to 600 km of WLTP range.
Both versions support DC charging at up to 200 kW and AC charging at up to 22 kW.
In Luxembourg, prices start at €58,000 including VAT for the rear-motor version and €62,800 for the dual-motor version. The dual-motor version with the Performance pack, featuring 22-inch wheels, Brembo brakes and ZF active dampers, starts at €72,430.
Speaking to Chronicle.lu during the event, Vincent Fonzé, CEO of Mobicore Group, which represents Polestar in Luxembourg, discussed the brand's origins in motorsport and its links with Volvo before becoming a standalone electric car brand in 2017.
Vincent Fonzé also noted that Polestar has three service points in Luxembourg, including locations in Luxembourg-Bonnevoie and Diekirch.
