Luxembourg's Chamber of Employees (Chambre des Salariés - CSL) has called on the Ministry of Labour to take urgent action to ensure that all apprentices receive the apprenticeship bonus to which they are entitled.
In a press release issued on Wednesday 15 October 2025, the CSL said: “In view of the persistent silence from the Ministry of Labour, the Chamber of Employees feels obliged to address the Minister publicly, as it considers it urgent to take action to ensure that ALL apprentices can receive the apprenticeship bonus to which they are entitled.”
It added: “The annual amount of the bonus in question is €1,560 for apprentices in CCP training and €1,800 for those under a DAP or DT apprenticeship contract. We hope that the Minister will heed the CSL’s call and take responsibility in response to this educational urgency.”
According to the CSL, it originally contacted Minister Mischo in a letter dated 7 July 2025, in which it highlighted that, as a result of an administrative change at ADEM related to the distribution of applications for apprenticeship promotion bonuses, “apprentices are no longer informed of their entitlement to this bonus, nor of the deadlines to claim it.” The CSL urged the ministry to “remedy this unacceptable situation” by either reinstating the procedure previously agreed upon jointly by the Vocational Guidance Service of ADEM, the Professional Training Service of the Ministry of National Education, Childhood and Youth and the professional chambers or by proposing an alternative solution.
In its press release the CSL remarked that the letter “has remained unanswered.”
