On Tuesday 25 November 2025, the Balearic brand of handcrafted shoes Carmina announced its continued international expansion with the recent opening of a new boutique in Luxembourg-Ville (11 Avenue de la Porte Neuve).

The inauguration of the Mallorcan luxury craftsmanship brand, whose origins date back to 1866, took place on Thursday 6 November, with more than 350 guests, including tennis player Feliciano López, director and owner of Carmina, Sandro Albaladejo, fashion influencers and a flamenco group. The boutique noted that the public gathering at Cercle Cité in Place d’Armes took place in a festive setting reflecting Spanish influences.

Earlier this year, on Wednesday 15 October, the brand also opened a boutique in London’s Mayfair district in the United Kingdom (UK), on Clifford Street alongside art galleries and tailoring houses, and it is set to inaugurate a new space in Tokyo, Japan on Sunday 30 November on Marunouchi Naka-Dori Avenue.

With these openings, Carmina aims to further strengthen its international presence and is approaching a network of about ten boutiques. The brand already operates in Palma, Barcelona and Madrid in Spain, Paris in France, as well as New York and San Francisco in the United States (US). Next steps include Germany, with Munich and Hamburg listed as priorities, while the brand continues to expand in the US, which remains its largest market by sales volume.

Carmina’s range includes classic models such as Oxfords, loafers and monk straps, alongside contemporary styles like Chelsea boots and chukkas. The brand also offers custom-made production.

Carmina focuses primarily on men’s footwear collection, although around 25% of its catalogue is dedicated to women’s models.

Sandro Albaladejo noted: “Our family has been making all our shoes on the island of Mallorca since 1866. Our ambition is to remain the best in the world in terms of handmade footwear.”
