On Thursday 11 December 2025, Banque Internationale à Luxembourg (BIL) and the Olympic Committee of Luxembourg (Comité Olympique et Sportif Luxembourgeois - COSL) announced the renewal of their partnership for the next three years.
Since 2023, BIL has been a Gold Partner of COSL and supporter of Team Lëtzebuerg athletes in international competitions, including the most recent Games of the Small States of Europe held in Andorra in May 2025, where Luxembourg won 86 medals.
As BIL approaches its 170th anniversary, it said that the renewal reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to supporting Luxembourgish sport over the long term and to contributing to its recognition beyond the country’s borders.
Jeffrey Dentzer, CEO of BIL, said: “We are proud to continue this collaboration with COSL. The athletes of Team Lëtzebuerg gave us moments of intense emotion during the Games of the Small States of Europe and the Olympic Games. Sport embodies universal values of respect and self-improvement, and it serves as an inspiration for how we serve our clients and society.”
Michel Knepper, President of COSL, added: “COSL is particularly enthusiastic about extending its partnership with BIL until the end of the year. The core values of BIL and COSL are deeply aligned. This collaboration allows COSL to promote access to sport for all, support sporting excellence, and contribute to strengthening our society.”
With the renewal, BIL and COSL said they had reaffirmed their “shared commitment to supporting Luxembourgish sport and proudly representing the Grand Duchy on the international stage”.
According to BIL, the partnership with COSL forms part of the bank’s overall sponsorship strategy, which aims to support initiatives that have meaningful impact for Luxembourgish society. The bank is actively engaged in four key areas:
• Culture – promoting access to artistic events and supporting local creative initiatives;
• Sport – supporting athletes and encouraging participation in sport as a vehicle for cohesion and health;
• Education – supporting educational projects and initiatives that contribute to the development of younger generations;
• Entrepreneurship – encouraging innovative projects with a positive impact on the national economy and supporting entrepreneurs.
